Materialtechnologie

COi Chemist Engineer Specific material compounds for individual needs.  We understand that our customers need to know the parts we supply will perform as required in service, each and every time. That’s why we pay close attention to application variables and help our customers choose the best rubber and plastic materials — based on physical, chemical and thermal requirements — for each situation. We can also formulate and test custom compounds in our material development laboratories or any other A2LA certified laboratories.

  • Thermale Elastomeren (TPE)
  • Styrenische Blockcopolymeren (TPE-s)
  • Polyolefin-Gemische (TPE-o)
  • Elastomere Legierungen (TPE-v oder TPV)
  • Thermoplastische Polyurethane (TPU)
  • Thermoplastisches Copolymer
  • Thermoplastische Polyamide

Silicone sample: measured results

A 2024 silicone sample recorded zero failures among five specimens in a -65°C brittleness-by-impact test under ASTM D2137-11(2018), Method C. The same test report recorded tear strength of 53.4 kN/m under ASTM D624-00(2020), Type B.

Brittleness test conditions: Type A specimens, 2.1 mm thick; absolute alcohol immersion for 3 minutes; test temperature -65°C; five specimens tested, zero failures.

Tear test conditions: Type B specimens, 2.13 mm thick; testing speed 500 mm/min; measured tear strength 53.4 kN/m.

Understanding the test results

Report date: August 21, 2024. Results apply only to the tested sample. They do not establish performance for every silicone compound or finished part, or a pass/fail judgment against AMS 3303.

Material selection and testing should be matched to the application, operating conditions and agreed acceptance requirements.
